Survivor's Guilt

Seattle forecast for today: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph.

Occasionally it's good to live in a place where nobody bothers to install air conditioning in buildings.

For the folks living in places affected by the heat wave, try to stay cool, and remember that on all of the really nice spring, summer and fall days that you have Seattle still looks like this.

  1. Huntsville right now is 99 degrees with a heat index of 112. You guys also don't get very cold winters, right? Tell me more about Boeing and Blue Origins. Please.

  2. Typical Seattle winters are in the upper 30s to lower 40s, with rain. Spring and fall are slightly warmer, with rain. Often we have a summer drought, but even then we rarely see temperatures reach into the 90s. This La Nina spring and summer has been unseasonably cool and wet even for here, but seeing what's happening around the rest of the country, I'll take it.

  3. Hi guys I see you two are still at it. On my recent visit to Ireland in particular Waterford I got sunburned. Can you imagine living in South Florida and I get sunburned in Waterford. The weather was glorious and about 70° we were out on the cliffs fror three hours watching the Tall Ships assemble off The Hook for the first Race. Between wind and sun really caught it. What do you mean sunscreen? in Ireland!! Really grand trip read all about it in the NAUTICAL LOG series.

    good Watch.

  4. Hey Peter,

Actually the past several weeks here have been shockingly Ireland-esque. Even for Seattle. But, fingers crossed, it looks like we may actually get a summer here yet; Saturday is supposed to be partly cloudy and 71 degrees!
